The moment Daniel opened his eyes again, he wished he hadn't.
"Oh great," he said, seeing the camp of warriors milling around in front of him. He blinked a couple of times, the wooziness wearing off from whatever they'd stunned him with earlier. He was tied to a tree, his hands bound with rope or a vine or something. And not comfortably, he might add.
The leaders of the group seemed to be arguing about something but Daniel couldn't catch what it was as he was too far away. They were carrying a couple of primitive weapons, machetes and bow and arrows, a couple of blow guns with darts like the one that had taken him out. They were inspecting one of his books and the candy bar he had had on his person at the time.
Daniel hoped they would either keep arguing or at least let him talk to them when they stopped. Otherwise, from their body language, he was assuming that he was going to be welcomed to their village the hard way. It didn't help that a few of the warriors were "warming up" as it were on a nearby tree with their bows and arrows targeting a rather crudely made effigy of a person with a melon for a head...and they had really good aim too.
Daniel tried to move around a bit inconspicously. He hoped that eventually the rest of the team would notice he was missing and come looking for him. If only he could reach his radio...
ooc: anyone is welcome to jump in :) would love for some sg1 muses. his radio does work, he just can't reply unless his hands get untied. could also sneak up on the group if they already know where he is.

Date: 2009-04-08 06:12 pm (UTC)Too late, one of the teenage natives with red and blue painted streaks across his face grabbed the microphone part from his jumpsuit and was trying to yank it off of it's cord. "No, nonononono...please don't do that...come on you're going to break it." He tried in a couple of different languages, hoping one of them would get through as they were trying to pull the radio off of him.
There were bits and pieces being sent through to Jack's end as the natives were accidentally pressing the button to reply now and again. "...come...let go....*couple words of goa'uld*....*then ancient*...my radio...."

Date: 2009-04-08 06:30 pm (UTC)I swear we should stop letting him go exploring, he's a trouble magnet
Jack found the trail they had gone down and started down it.
Sorry it's a bit long, got carried away :)
Date: 2009-04-09 05:13 pm (UTC)He only hoped they would be able to find him in time.
There were a couple of loud exclamations from the cheifs which Daniel was picking up as some dialect of Goa'uld that he wasn't familiar with...almost what Spanglish was to Spanish. He caught that they had made a decision but he couldn't figure out what it was. Suddenly, he found himself being unstrapped from the tree but his hands were still tied as he was shoved along a path leading out of the small village. He tried a few words to his captors, trying to mimic what they were saying. A few were interested but they were shoved back by his guards as if they weren't allowed to talk back.
They were at the lip of a dropoff somewhere in the jungle-like forest. "Come on guys, we can work this out," Daniel said, trying to keep his feet away from the edge. But the main leader gave a shout and Daniel was tossed over the edge...
...and landed on something soft. He managed to flip over despite his bound hands and looked up..."Oh boy..."
He was laying on a large leaf of some sort. Towering over him with a few tendrils waving was a large flowering plant with a very familiar structure in the middle that resembled a venus fly trap...only this one was about fifty feet tall. And chomping away as it reached out for Daniel...
And there's a problem with that where?
Date: 2009-04-09 08:37 pm (UTC)Can't take our eyes off you for a moment can we Jackson... He thought as he followed staying back. the rest of the men with him fanned out doing the same.
"Daniel!" He ran forward when his team member was thrown over the edge of the cliff. He heard zats go off and the locals fell around him.
Looking over the edge he saw Daniel move. "What the..." That thing was HUGE!
"Daniel hang on." He wondered if his zat would work on the plant before Daniel became plant food.
Re: And there's a problem with that where?
Date: 2009-04-12 02:02 am (UTC)"Jack? Is that you?!" He kept backing up, pushing with his feet but it was slow going. There were little tendrils and vines that were creeping up on him and making it harder to move around as he went.
A couple of bigger vines lashed out at him, grabbing him around the waist and feet and hauling him up in the air while winding around his body. Daniel let out a slightly unmanly high pitched yell as he dangled in midair. But that was soon cut off as the vines were holding him tighter and tighter, making breathing just difficult enough to be disconcerting. Even worse, he was getting moved in closer to that big mouth of a head...
The plant was surprisingly agile, dodging it's head around a couple of zat shots as if it could sense where they were. It hissed slightly as a few of it's larger "limbs" were hit and reached out a long vine to knock over some of the team that was standing at the edge of the cliff.
Re: And there's a problem with that where?
Date: 2009-04-12 02:59 am (UTC)Dropping down to the pit working his way towards Daniel.
Re: And there's a problem with that where?
Date: 2009-04-12 03:10 am (UTC)"What...are you....doing?" he managed to get out, seeing Jack getting closer. "Stay back, you're gonna...get caught." He was being squeezed tighter as if trying to keep him still...the venus flytrap of a mouth was opening, he could even see the little hairs inside which would have been fascinating at any other time...
One of the vines had already snuck in behind Jack, snaring him around the ankle...
Re: And there's a problem with that where?
Date: 2009-04-12 03:32 am (UTC)"Damn it... This is the last time I'm saving your ass Daniel." He yelps, still managing to hold onto his gun.
Re: And there's a problem with that where?
Date: 2009-04-12 03:37 am (UTC)Then he saw it. Coughing against his bonds to get a breath, "Jack! There....shoot....spinal cord!" He got out the last word just as the vines slipped from around him and he fell into the large throat with a yell and disappeared. The lump that was Jackson started working its way down the stem...
Sure enough, at the back of the "throat" was the outline of the plant's spinal cord.
Re: And there's a problem with that where?
Date: 2009-04-12 03:41 am (UTC)"The back of it! Shoot!" He just hoped that Daniel would be okay.
One of the soldiers with him shot the vine wrapped around him dropping him to the ground. "Ow...."

Date: 2009-04-12 04:03 am (UTC)Three rounds blew out the back of the throat of the plant thing.
Re: And there's a problem with that where?
Date: 2009-04-12 04:11 am (UTC)Farther down the stem was a bulge that wasn't moving any further...
Re: And there's a problem with that where?
Date: 2009-04-12 04:13 am (UTC)He managed to get down to him to grab his vest to pull him out.
Re: And there's a problem with that where?
Date: 2009-04-12 04:23 am (UTC)When he suddenly started to cough, bringing up whatever he was covered in. "Ughhh...blech..." He opened his eyes to look up at Jack. "That was...exceedingly disgusting."
Re: And there's a problem with that where?
Date: 2009-04-12 04:27 am (UTC)"Yeah, Daniel... no more wondering off okay. That one was a little too close."
He mopped the gunk off him. "Guys any time you want to let us out of here's great."
Re: And there's a problem with that where?
Date: 2009-04-12 04:33 am (UTC)"Why couldn't you just cut me out or something?!" he said incredulously as Jack followed a bit less concerned than he was for some reason.

Date: 2009-04-12 04:39 am (UTC)"You know, technically, this isn't a plant. If it has a spinal column, that would classify it as an animal..."
