Boston Legal...I'm not even sure I can explain it. It's like the typical legal drama mixed with a heaping helping of crack. Alan originated on The Practice, though, so his world does bear some resemblance to reality.

I'm cool with any of those scenarios--although the thing about 1 is that it'd probably take some time for them to gain each other's trust (which is fine with me if it's fine with you). And 3 would be fun because Alan'd get a chance to see Daniel in action.

hehe well the crack part of that would help Alan's tolerance to alien stuff I'm sure. Or maybe the fact that he works with Captain Kirk would take care of that. :D

I like scenario 3 too, scenario 1 would take too long even if it is a good one. Ok, so an emergency that keeps Alan stuck in the SGC...and it has to get him in as well...

Ok, idea.
Alan catches the team like suspicously going down an alley or something after an alien who's got something of theirs, a tablet or artefact or something. Alien could either hide the artefact and alan could find it or he could take alan hostage and activate it on him. Either way, whatever it is could be attached to Alan so they would have to take him back to the SGC to get it off. We'd have to work out the details as to what exactly it is or what it does/is going to do to him in the way of symptoms and such. They could even have to bring him on a mission because he has to be in a certain place to get it off or be rid of it, etc.

Easily in Boston. I'll just have to figure out what kind of alien...replicators look like humans but they are a tad too deadly me-thinks...
We could just make up something fairly new, that would save time.

Ok, two questions: Should the alien look human, even if it's just initially? And should the danger Alan's getting into be more of a threat to himself or to other people? Because there's a difference between getting a disease that's gonna kill you eventually or being the carrier that would kill other people. (not that it has to be a disease, that's just an example)

Well, he's going to have to mention it eventually (ahahahaha, he'll probably just make passing reference to his husband, leaving Daniel to be all "WTF?"). You'd better start bracing yourself now.

Yeah, I think it'd be best if the alien looked human (although it'll probably end up making Alan paranoid). And Alan would be more likely to cooperate (and more terrified) if other people's lives were at stake.

Ok I think I've got it then...do you want to start the story at the courthouse or Alan's office or something? I think I can work it out as I go. :) We'll need a random official person like a judge or something that's not offiliated with either Boston Legal or Stargate to be a bad guy.

Let's go with the courthouse--there are more crazies around (though not by much). And help yourself to judges, bailiffs, and anyone else you might need.

Ok courthouse it is. If you'd like, you could even kick it off since you're more familiar with that setting and I could bring the messenger guy in after you post. Just have Alan doing his normal routine and whatnot.

We need a name for the verse. How about illegal!verse?

Works for me. I don't like splitting characters into multiple continuities, so as far as Alan's concerned, this'll just be part of the verse known as his life.
