Nutter idea...and why didn't I think of this before? :) What if they get mistaken for each other at their respective places of work?

i.e.
Daniel is at the courthouse to pay a traffic ticket or something minor, the SGC sends a car to pick him up quick for some emergency, and the soldiers accidentally pick up Alan instead. Alan tries to go along with it till he gets caught, which would probably be whenever Daniel shows up.
Also vice versa, Daniel could get caught up in the lawyer part of it too even if he doesn't want to. He's good at getting into trouble even though he's protesting against it.

The best way to run that story would be if one part was running on one journal and the other was running on the other. I'd be everyone at the SGC and you'd have to be posting as everyone out of Boston Legal.

So that's option #4 to the list. :)

Hmmm...although that sounds awesome, I don't think they look enough alike (there's the glasses, the hair, the small matter of Alan being, oh, 50 pounds heavier than Daniel) to fool anybody who knows either of them for a second.

But we could (maybe?) do something where the people at the SGC think Alan is Daniel from the future (that happens on the show, right? Alternate universes and so forth?). And I suppose Daniel could pass himself off as Alan's cousin or younger brother (though why he'd want to, I'm not sure).

Of course, we'd still have to figure out a reason for Alan to be in Colorado and Daniel to be in Boston.

Rats, that's right. Colorado and Boston, MA aren't exactly down the road from each other. Hrm...and unfortunately, Daniel from the future looks like Michael Shanks, not James Spader. :)

Ok, new approach...what kind of clients or cases does Alan take on usually? Anybody or a specific type?

Curse that Michael Shanks! Okay, back to the drawing board. Um, Alan will pretty much take on anything--he practices both civil and criminal law, and he's handled everything from a department store Santa Claus who was fired for being gay to death penalty appeals. He tends to side with the underdog, but there were some shake-ups at his firm and the people in charge could conceivably force him to take a case he personally objects to.
