Daniel was pushed to his knees by the guards following behind him. "Friendly fellows, aren't you?" he said dryly.
They'd been caught trying to go into one of the underground tunnels under the city. Daniel had spotted a line of glyphs and had been following it when they had been ambushed. They were outnumbered and Shakarri had taken some sort of dart to the shoulder, their version of a bullet really.
Now they were in a building, on their knees in front of someone who looked like they were in charge. It was a large throne structure the person sat on with what seemed to be advisors circling around the back and sides of it. Daniel was pretty sure they weren't going to believe they were just there to read the walls.

Date: 2009-03-28 09:12 am (UTC)The man on the throne gestured to one of his advisors, presumably the one who spoke because he never did any speaking of his own.
"Speak and tell the Grand Ruler why you were in the Forbidden Underground. Speak the truth or suffer." As if to make the point, one of the guards shoved their energy stick at Daniel's back. He winced severely, falling forward onto his hands and knees. "...wow, that hurt."

"Do not speak unless addressed woman." Placing her hand on the ground she closed her eyes not daring to let them see her eyes as Bast threatened to make her grab the man's wrist and snap it.

Date: 2009-03-28 09:28 am (UTC)"We were reading the...markings...on the walls. We were trying to read them..."
The Grand Ruler looked very uncomfortable at that statement though he was trying to hide it. Daniel got the idea that nobody was really supposed to be reading what was written down there. Great, we've broken a local taboo already and it's not even noon yet. "We meant no harm..."
"Silence!" the advisor said before confering with the man in the chair. Daniel braced himself for another jolt of the energy stick but nobody moved to do so yet.
"The Grand Ruler sentences you both to the Pit of Sebrah." There was a loud gong somewhere and the floor between the throne and Daniel and Shakarri opened up like a trap door. The two of them were hauled up by the guards as they were moved towards the pit. "Wait wait!" Daniel was trying to get a foothold to keep back, but wasn't having much success.

Date: 2009-03-28 09:41 am (UTC)Only one guard was on her, didn't take much for her to twist his arm behind her and take his weapon. "Release my friend or none of you will live long"
She held the weapon against the man growling low, clearly not afraid to use it.
"I should have you killed anyway for harming me."

Date: 2009-03-28 09:51 am (UTC)He looked over at Shakarri, knowing this could be even worse than the pit. "Easy there, lets try not to kill anyone if possible..." he tried to talk Bast down.
The Grand Ruler was taken aback by her statement at first but his eyes narrowed as if in defiance. "Kill them both," he said himself, an order to the soldiers that they dared not disobey, even if it did get them killed.
Daniel got an energy stick jammed in his back and his body was wracked with a pain that kept getting worse as he cried out in pain....he couldn't move and it looked like he was going to get killed this slow and very painful way...

She hid behind the guard she was holding. "Daniel, run." She'd stay back as long as she could, the drug was starting to affect her more, her body felt sluggish.
One of the women moved up to the Grand Ruler whispering something to him.
"Wait, she's right... The woman may be useful." He watched as she started to fall back.

When she woke it was cold and dark. Her arms hurt being held above her. She lifted her head a little, groaning as her head hurt.
"D...daniel..." She whispered hoping he was nearby. Panic started to set in making her tug at her wrists. She couldn't see, still not sure if it was because of a dark room or something covering her eyes.
"Please... say something..." She was trying to calm down. Bast was still quiet, which wasn't a good sign to her.

Date: 2009-03-28 10:21 am (UTC)He was on his stomach next to Shakarri, his wrists shackled by a long chain attached to the wall, his head almost laying right next to her, but he wasn't aware of this yet. For some reason, they'd given him enough slack for him to remain on the floor. It was a very damp and cold floor too.

Date: 2009-03-28 10:57 am (UTC)He tried to get up, with the intent of getting between the guy and Shakarri but he was pushed aside rather easily by one of the man's lackeys. The wall wasn't any more comfortable than the floor, especially against his sore back as it connected with it. "Aaahh...easy there..." he had to pause for a breath. "Let her go, she has nothing to do with this. I was..." He stopped and flinched as one of the lackeys thrust an energy stick at him without touching it to him. He really didn't want any more of that. "Right, shutting up."
The man was getting down to where he was face to face with Shakarri...not that it would matter, she couldn't see him anyway. "I want to talk to the Go'auld..." he said the name with spite in his voice as he poked her with the deactivated end of an energy stick. "Now."

Date: 2009-03-28 11:14 am (UTC)It wasn't much of a plan, but Daniel was starting one in his fuzzy brain. He lashed out with a foot, connecting with his tormentor's face and knocking his stick away. Thankfully, he hadn't been completely frisked when they had been captured. Pulling a handful of the darts out of his pocket that had been shot at them earlier, he jammed them in the main boss's leg all at once just in time. The lackey had a broken nose and was furious. He lashed out with a fist and Daniel was tossed back against the wall, his head connecting with the stones, and he fell knocked out almost onto Shakarri's lap.

Date: 2009-03-28 12:09 pm (UTC)Shakarri heard the man who had hit her fall and even though it hurt, she kicked up with both legs at the direction the other man was at, managing to kick hard enough he fell back, into the cart of tools they had brought with them.
She felt something dripping down one arm from struggling. That was when Daniel fell against her.
Pulling at her wrist she managed to get one hand free. She groaned as she felt the raw skin hitting air. She waited a few minutes realizing she hadn't heard the man she had kicked. Reaching up she pulled off the blindfold.
The man was lying on the table, some sharp object out his chest. She glanced up seeing that it was a simple latch that had the cuffs together.
Sitting on the floor she cradled her arm trying to calm down. Using her good hand she freed Daniel and checked for a pulse. "D...daniel, please... wake up." She wasn't sure how long the man would stay out, she had seen the darts in his leg.
Shakarri had a feeling that what ever was in the darts was making her feel like she was going to get sick. The cool wall behind her felt good. She kept her eyes closed, hoping that who ever was in charge would give them a little time.
"Please... Daniel, we have to get out of here..." She didn't move yet, not sure if she could yet. I... need to get him up... we need to get out of here... She slumped against Daniel, her hurt wrist falling to her lap. There was already a bump forming on the side of her head where she had been hit, and a few bruises. Shakarri could already hear the doctor's complaints about her arm when they got back.
"Daniel... Next time we say we okay on dig alone... tell one of the others to lock us up... less painful they to it..." She coughed as she curled up a little, One blow to the head, but her sides and stomach she felt had taken most of the damage. She'd try to wake him soon, but for now she needed a little time. Keeping against the wall she stayed still. She hoped Daniel would wake soon so she could take care of her wrist.

Date: 2009-03-29 01:39 am (UTC)Upstairs, the nobles were continuing to party, thinking nothing that their cheif security officer was nowhere to be seen. They had other things on their minds than security.
Finally, after an hour without a sound, Daniel stirred slightly. The first thing he saw was the flickering of the torchlight...or was it the fact that he couldn't focus yet that was causing that effect. The stone floor was cold underneath him. The cobwebs in his brain were still trying to hem him back into unconsciousness...telling him it was only going to hurt worse the more awake he was...he should just go back to sleep....
Instead he fought it, trying to clear his head.
He moaned softly at the headache that was growing at the back of his head. "...that's...a concussion..." he said a bit thickly. He shivered suddenly, realizing he was awfully cold after lying on the floor for so long. Shock and hypothermia too, he thought. Wonder if being dead would be an improvement...

The man Daniel had drugged had died in that time. OD's suck.

And her hands weren't shacked...wait, neither were his...what did I miss? he thought. He reached out a hand and prodded her on the shoulder. "Com'n...wake up...don't leave me here..."

Everything spun a bit but he didn't pass out again. Definitely a concussion. He wasn't sure how they were going to get out of there, but he wasn't going to try to think that far ahead...that hurt too.
He managed to focus on her hand in the flickering torch light, trying to determine if it was broken or dislocated.
